Freya Catering is Estonia’s first sustainable catering service, aiming to reduce our collective footprint with every event, coffee break, lunch, dinner, and celebration. We are dedicated to creating abundant flavors, wholesome food, excellent service, and beautiful experiences – all while caring for the environment around us.

Why do we care about sustainability?

Catering is not always sustainable, but at Freya Foodbar we feel a responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint. Our goal is to lead the way in sustainable catering by offering delicious and responsible solutions for a greener future.

Our kitchen prioritizes local and ethical ingredients sourced from small producers and responsible partners. We use these ingredients to their fullest – avoiding excess and minimizing food waste.

By-products from cooking are given new life in our kitchen:

  • We use both the main ingredients and leftover liquids in fermentation
  • Scraps are transformed into tasty broths and sauces
  • Every ingredient has its place in a holistic menu

Plant-based dishes are at the heart of our menu – we offer vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free options. For fish and meat dishes, we make conscious and footprint-reducing choices, using only sustainably caught seafood with MSC certification and avoiding endangered species.

Environmental care and beauty

Reducing and sorting waste is a natural part of our sustainable catering. We handle all waste from preparation to cleanup ourselves, directing biowaste to the Maardu biogas plant, where it is turned into renewable energy. Leftover food is donated to the Estonian Food Bank to help those most in need.

We don’t use disposable serving items – for both home and event catering, we use reusable dishes or Ringo reusable trays to reduce plastic use and support sustainable choices.

We believe a meal should not only be a taste experience but also a visual delight. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to meet your expectations and create an aesthetically pleasing event – all in an environmentally conscious way.
